What would Valentine’s Day be without a love story? Our Bright Spot shines on a celebration of love. John Denninger, 82, and Elizabeth “Ebeth” Merkel, 80, had a commitment ceremony Wednesday at Lifespan’s Lily Café in the Maplewood YMCA. The two met there and discovered things they had in common, including a love of music and dance.

WEBSTER, N.Y. (WROC-TV) – A war veteran from Webster was honored on Friday for his bravery during World War II. Don Matina is 93 years old. During the war, Matina was part of the advanced landing group on D-Day and played a significant role in freeing France from Nazi Germany as a scout.
