Topic: Is this group still active?

Message: I have also recently discovered the site and am currently a RATS girl looking for a community group, but there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of activity on the chat forum....I actually am curious about the possibility of attending a up-and-coming event with ROC City Coalition this Wednesday March 19th....but just found out it is an invitation only group. Does anyone know how I could become involved?

Topic: Is this group still active?

Message: I stumbled upon the RATS' website with a google search. I have noticed that there has not been a whole lot of action of updating on the main webpage. I was wondering if this group is still active and organizes events.

Topic: Your Ideas Needed!

Message: I work for the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, so I'm not able to attend a lot of the events I see on your calendar because I work weekends, but since you're looking for suggestions I think the comedy show The Male Intellect; an oxymoron? would be a nice, casual event. The show is only an hour and a half and you can get drinks or desserts at concessions to take into the theatre with you since it's table/chair style seating. Since I work in the Marketing Office I could even offer a $5 discount for all RATS that get tickets during the month of December. Just email me if you have questions.

Topic: Park ave.

Message: We just moved to Park Ave as well, it is a great place to live! It was more expensive than our previous apt, but twice as big. But the location more than makes up for it. We just went up and down the streets looking at for rent signs as well.

Topic: Park ave.

Message: I've lived in the Park Ave neighborhood for about 4 years. I like the energentic feeling of the area and being in walking distance to restaurants, bars, and coffee shops. I also like the character of the old houses. If you look hard enough, you can find some deals in area. When I moved, I got my place for about the same price as my old place in Brighton, once you figure in the additional cost of heat that I didn't have to pay before (my actual rent is cheaper). An added bonus is that my rent hasn't increased at all in the 4 years I've been there. If you want an idea of what's available in the Park Ave area, check out www.rentrochester.com (a RATS sponsor, BTW) or just drive up and down the streets copying down numbers on the "for rent" signs. I did the later, calling several landlords and touring 5 or 6 different places before I found the perfect one for me.--Jason

Topic: Park ave.

Message: Hey everyone, I was wondering if any of you live in the Park ave. area, and could tell me whether or not you like living there. It seems like alot of people in our age group have moved down that way, and so I was just wondering what the huge draw was. I've lived in rochester my whole life but have only ventured into the city to go to the bars and so I really don't know my way around there yet. I'd consider moving there for the mere fact that I'd be closer to work, but I hear it costs a fortune. Anyone have any suggestions?-Andy

Topic: Transplanter

Message: Hi Ryan. Welcome to Rochester. We've got a beach where Lake Ontario and the Genesee River meet. There is a long pier there that people like to walk out on. I've done it before in the middle of a "big" storm, where the swells were crashing over the top of the pier--and I think they were about 6', 8' tops. Not exactly surfing weather. Not to mention that the lake is pretty cold, even in the summer! So surfing may be out while you're up here, but we've got pleanty of other things going on that you'll probably enjoy. I hope to see you out at some of our events.Good luck with the move.--Jason
