Message: I work for the Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, so I'm not able to attend a lot of the events I see on your calendar because I work weekends, but since you're looking for suggestions I think the comedy show The Male Intellect; an oxymoron? would be a nice, casual event.  The show is only an hour and a half and you can get drinks or desserts at concessions to take into the theatre with you since it's table/chair style seating.  Since I work in the Marketing Office I could even offer a $5 discount for all RATS that get tickets during the month of December.  Just email me if you have questions. We just went up and down the streets looking at for rent signs as well. Message: I've lived in the Park Ave neighborhood for about 4 years.  I like the energentic feeling of the area and being in walking distance to restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.  I also like the character of the old houses. If you look hard enough, you can find some deals in area.  When I moved, I got my place for about the same price as my old place in Brighton, once you figure in the additional cost of heat that I didn't have to pay before (my actual rent is cheaper).  An added bonus is that my rent hasn't increased at all in the 4 years I've been there. If you want an idea of what's available in the Park Ave area, check out www.rentrochester.com (a RATS sponsor, BTW) or just drive up and down the streets copying down numbers on the "for rent" signs.  I did the later, calling several landlords and touring 5 or 6 different places before I found the perfect one for me.--Jason Thu, 7 Sep 2006 17:52:10 -0400 Park ave. in General : General Discussion http://www.rochesterarea20somethings.org/ratschat/viewtopic.php?pid=67#67 67@http://www.rochesterarea20somethings.org/ratschat Topic: Park ave. Message: Hey everyone, I was wondering if any of you live in the Park ave. area, and could tell me whether or not you like living there.  It seems like alot of people in our age group have moved down that way, and so I was just wondering what the huge draw was.  I've lived in rochester my whole life but have only ventured into the city to go to the bars and so I really don't know my way around there yet.   I'd consider moving there for the mere fact that I'd be closer to work, but I hear it costs a fortune.  Anyone have any suggestions?-Andy Wed, 6 Sep 2006 18:56:20 -0400 Transplanter in General : General Discussion http://www.rochesterarea20somethings.org/ratschat/viewtopic.php?pid=66#66 66@http://www.rochesterarea20somethings.org/ratschat Topic: Transplanter Message: Hey Jason,Welcome to Rochester (in a month). I'm looking for an apartment in the city for the end of the summer so any suggestions about good places or good landlords would be greatly appreciated. Hope to hear from some of you soon.
